Spring break in Santorini

After a long and cold winter, spring has made a colourful entrance and everyone can feel the change in the air!

Almond-tree blossoms are for greeks the ultimate sign of Spring’s arrival

The locals swap their winter jackets for their bicycles. The sidewalks bustle a bit more. People are extra smiley. Tourists take photos in their sundresses without turning blue. Romance is in the air.

Now is the perfect time to get outdoors and listen out for birds chirping and bees buzzing, spot the blossom on the trees and fields and look for the buds on the vines!

Vines all over the island looking like Dionysus’ crowns

This winter was rather wet but you can see the result of these large amounts of rainfall in every corner! Even the streets are full of flowers, an unusual sight for this normally dry and deserted volcanic island!

The scent of flowers (and fresh paint) flood the air and you can’t help feeling happy and full of energy!

So, don’t miss out on spring; join in – by looking for a new sign of this living miracle in each day, from the first bud to the last bluebell!
